This photo was taken in Dubai. I got up very early to take a balloon ride in the desert. It was a magical experience. We watched the sunrise from above and the dunes were magnificent to shoot in the early morning light. After the sun came up, I saw someone pointing to something down below. To my surprise there were deer running through the sand. I didn't know that there were wild deer in the desert!Time

I didn't do much post-processing, just a crop and some minor contrast/sharpening.In my camera bag

Don't be afraid to leave your comfort zone. I had never been in a balloon before. I was staying with a friend in Dubai, but went alone on this adventure. I was a little nervous about being airsick, or cold, but as soon as the balloon took off, it was like the ground was leaving me rather than the other way around, and it was an incredible feeling. My nerves disappeared right away and were replaced by awe.
