Location
I took this photo in Ericeira, Portugal on a stormy winters day.Time
It was 6 pm , new years day.Lighting
The light on the coastline and on the water drew my attention as we were walking towards the centre of the town. In the distance I saw the wonderful shades of blueish grey. I ran down to the sea hoping to be there in time for this wonderful light! Mind you, this is a color photo with minimal editing!Equipment
I didn't use any equipment other then my wonderful little Lumix DMC-TZ100.Inspiration
As I stated before, the light was fantastic, this is a color photo with minimal editing! I was struck from afar by the wonderful shades of blueish grey. I wanted to capture this rare moment of daylight to show the mysterious beauty of the coastline of Ericeira...Editing
I did very little editing in Lightroom to finish this wonderful color photo in all it's natural mono color beauty. In my camera bag
I don't have any equipment in my bag (yet) I am a beginning photographer and I am learning to use a camera, to look for the good light, composition and point of view. One day when I know how to use and set the camera well enough, I will start to think about a bag filled with technical things instead of the need to understand...Feedback
Allways be prepared for this kind of special natural lighting moment! We were going to a restaurant when I saw this wonderful scene in the distance. In a situation like this you have to move fast and look for a good place to take your photo... If you look at a subject to photograph, you have to try to realise what you want to achieve, Try to find the good light, the right point of view and the best composition... And most of all, take more shots with slightly different settings so you can choose the best one, once you got home and opened your laptop, the magic of today's world begins... I allways crop it later into the size and composition I like best. Crop the photo in different ways, so you can choose the best one the next day when you can have a fresh look at them!day when you can have a fresh look at them!
