I took this photo on the framework of our workshop window in Enkhuizen, Holland.Time
It was about 1 pm during our lunchbreak.Lighting
I didn't use any additional lighting. This little predator was sitting on a doorpost out of the sun, ideal for a nice macro.Equipment
I used my wonderful Lumix DMC-TZ60 and shot out of hand without any extra equipment.Inspiration
I saw this little predator catching it's lunch on the doorpost of our house. I wanted to make an isolated photo on the white background of this wonderful moment so I ran for my camera and was right on time for this capture!Editing
This is mostly a natural photo, minimal editing was done in lightroom. In my camera bag
I don't have a bag of equipment... My love for natural beauty and spontanious composition is enough for the moment. I always carry my Lumix DMC-TZ60 with me, wich practically fits in my back pocket and I never have to worry about the extra equipment as I am in the beginning of the learning process of photography.Feedback
If you want to take a macro photo like this, make sure you pose your camera as close to the surface as possible. Avoid direct sunlight, it will cast dark shadows and burned out white highlights. Take the photo from a slight distance to make sure you have a wider field of sharpness and crop it later to the right dimensions to have a nice composition within the rule of thirds for example! I allways crop in different ways and choose the best one a day later when I can have a fresh look at them... And last but not least, allways make sure your camera is near you with a charged battery!
