Location
This image was taken at Exmoor Zoo in Devon, EnglandTime
I took this about mid-day, I think that's why they were asleep as they had been fed.Lighting
An overcast but bright day so no worries about lightingEquipment
taken on my Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ200Inspiration
The caracels looked so peaceful as they slept in the long grass. From one angle all you could see was their tufted ears above the grass.Editing
Just a little sharpening & cropping. In my camera bag
My trusted Panasonic is usually all I take out. Sometimes I have my tripod with me but for zoo visits just the camera.Feedback
People often moan that when they visit zoos the animals are either hidden or asleep. Just wait around & sooner or later the right shot comes into your viewfinder. When photographing animals patience is key.
