Behind The Lens

Location

This image was taken in Prague Castle, Czech Republic. It is one of the museum rooms set out to show how trades people lived in the castle, This was the room of the seamstress.

Time

It was around 1pm in the afternoon

Lighting

This was taken though glass. The room is protected by a large glass panel. Also the daylight outside was very bight causing a blurring effect through the window. Due to the glass panel I couldn't use a flash as it would have caused a reflection. Unfortunately you can see a bit of reflection on the left hand side of the photo.. I adjusted the exposure slightly to compensate for the light & held my camera lens right up against the glass.

Equipment

I'm a lazy photographer & only ever carry my camera. This was taken on a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ200.

Inspiration

I loved the lay out of the room, the fact that people would live in this room, eating, sleeping & working whilst employed by the castle. It was only small but efficiently laid out to make the most of the space & light. A lovely vintage feel.

Editing

It has been cropped & the exposure adjusted, but that's all it needed.

In my camera bag

I am such a lazy photographer. I only ever carry my camera. I like the Panasonic range because they are light weight & easy to carry around all day. With a good zoom lens I don't really need anything else.

Feedback

If you like what your looking at, take the picture. Interiors don't always appeal to everyone but this had that vintage feel about it. It was well laid out & balanced.
