Location
This photo was taken in Prince William Sound in AlaskaTime
It was was mid day to early afternoon.Lighting
Lighting was awful, or lighting was great depending on how you were looking at it. It was heavy overcast and raining, which led to the low clouds and eerie look. It also brought out the colors in the icebergs.Equipment
Nikon D7200. I was shooting with a D7200 and D7100 that day. This photo I had a Nikkor 18-140mm kit lens.Inspiration
we were on a tour boat going through the ice field to get to a good location to view the glaciers. I shot this as we were leaving.Editing
yes - just made some adjustments in Lightroom. In my camera bag
I carry a Nikon D7100 and a D7200. I have a nice Nikkor 85-400mm zoom, wide angle 10-24mm, as well as the 18-140mm zoom that I took this shot with. I carry a Sirui tripod for when I travel. I should use it more than I do.Feedback
This was just an opportunity I stumbled upon as we were cruising to view a glacier (which was my desired target). I took lots of shots. I was only there for a few hours and the weather was what we got, so I had to work with what I had. The beauty of digital is take lots of shots with different f stops and shutter speeds. You can always delete the bad ones.
