Very majestic! I also love the composition, my subjects are almost always off center

Location
Juneau Alaska near the Marine Park along the water.Time
Early afternoon near the end of May.Lighting
Lighting was not really my friend as the sun was high in the sky and not a single cloud. However, I think because of that we got the nice shine on the Raven's dark black feathers and the sparkle in his eye. More often than not you just have to take what you are given and work with it.Equipment
This was shot with a Nikon D7200 @ f8 and shutter speed at 1/1000. I was using a Nikkor 18-140 zoom kit lens.Inspiration
We were walking along the water way and we came upon a group of Ravens sitting around. I don't see Raven's very often, they were use to people so they allowed me to get close and I simply took advantage of the opportunity.Editing
Post processing consisted of Tonemapping in Photomatix and then just some tweaks in lightroom to create a little more contrast and to crop.In my camera bag
I carry a Nikon D7100 and a D7200. I have a nice Nikkor 85-400mm zoom, wide angle 10-24mm, as well as the 18-140mm zoom that I took this shot with. I carry a Sirui tripod for when I travel. I should use it more than I do.Feedback
This was just an opportunity I stumbled upon. I took lots of shots. The beauty of digital is take lots of shots with different f stops and shutter speeds. You can always delete the bad ones. I tried a number of different angles and placing the subject and sun in different perspectives. It also helped that I had a subject to was oblivious to what I was doing or was just so use to it, he didn't care.
