This is Loop Head Lighthouse. Located at a very edge-of-the-world headland on the Atlantic coast of Ireland. The peninsula is on the north side of the mouth of the River Shannon in County Clare, almost four miles west of the westernmost village on the peninsula, Kilbaha, a fishing village of only a few hundred residents.

There is a wall around the lighthouse property. I’m not sure how often might be open to public, This shot was taken through the front gate late on a stormy afternoon (gates were closed). The area is pretty desolate, but very beautiful in a wild sort of way.
