Behind The Lens

Location

I took this shot in my back yard. We have a number of feeders and the birds have grown accustom to us, allowing me to get close.

Time

This shot was taken early evening on a cloudy day.

Lighting

It was getting towards evening and it was cloudy causing soft even lighting.

Equipment

Nikon D7100 with a Nikkor AF-S 80-400 mm zoom

Inspiration

Like taking photos of the birds that visit our back yard. Gives me an opportunity to experiment.

Editing

I am thinking I may have used Piccure+ to really bring out the feather detail.

In my camera bag

I carry a Nikon D7100 and a D7200. I have a nice Nikkor 85-400mm zoom, wide angle 10-24mm, as well as the 18-140mm zoom that I took this shot with. I carry a Sirui tripod for when I travel. I should use it more than I do.

Feedback

Don't be afraid to try different things.
