Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken at the Metro Richmond Zoo, in Virginia.

Time

Shot was taken at 1:40 in the afternoon.

Lighting

The midday sun was a little problematic. For this shot I waited until the sun was behind a cloud.

Equipment

This was taken with a Nikon D810 DSLR, paired with a Nikkor 200-500mm lens.

Inspiration

I liked the eyes and the heart shaped nose looking so forlorn from behind the wire of its cage.

Editing

None other than a little cropping and enhancing the iris.

In my camera bag

When walking the zoo I normally carry just a DSLR and either a 28-300mm zoom or 200-500mm zoom lens.
