This is an in-studio project that was mostly for the experience of photographing this little puppy. My friend at work allowed me to photograph this little bugger. This is one hyper dog; it was so difficult to capture a decent photograph of her, because she was all over the place and was chewing on everything. This pose was the last attempt to try. I have tons of patience, but that was a tough shoot trying to keep her corralled.Time
It was in the afternoon, but that doesn't matter with the shoot being indoor.Lighting
I used two strobes; one as a backlight and the other at camera left.Equipment
I used my canon xsi, my 18-55mm lens and two strobes.Inspiration
All I wanted with photographing this puppy was the experience. I am trying to gather more diverse photographs for advertising of my photography business; letting folks know that I am capable and willing to photograph pets. The only pet that I have is a crazy cat that doesn't cooperate, either, and I needed another subject. I have quite a few photographs of her doing a whole lot of nothing.Editing
I did perform much post-production on this photograph. I knew that I wanted to replace the background of this photograph with an outdoor background. I studied many landscape images that might have potential to coexist nicely with this angle of the platform. The background that I found was photographed a few years ago and helps this scene give the idea that the puppy is sitting on a dock. The direction of light helps the illusion. Was you able to tell that this is two images before reading this?In my camera bag
I carry my Canon 70d, and xsi; two lenses, 18-55mm and 75-300mm, and two ttl's.Feedback
Even if you are photographing in-studio you can create the illusion of being outdoors. Even better, photograph outside if possible. It was very cold out this day and winter without snow is quite ugly.
