This photo was taken in the forest of Vallombrosa near FlorenceTime
The photo was taken on October 2, 2016 at 14.53 when the sun (as the days were already very short) was already very low and filtered through the forest trunks. I've been looking for a point without trees so you can use the wide angle with the right perspective.Lighting
The lighting is totally natural and I used a closed diaphragm to create the star effect on the sun. Over-exposure of 2 stopsEquipment
For this photo I used the Nikon D4S (now replaced with the D5) and I mounted the wonderful 14-24 Nikkor f2.8. Iso 500 focal length 24mm with diaphragm f / 14. Free handshake with 1/13 speedInspiration
In the shot I was inspired by the beauty of the colors and the sun that filtered through the trunks of the treesEditing
Very little post production if not a shadowing of the shadows and an increase in detail. Lightly dribbled the lighter spots to better highlight the leaves in brighter spotsIn my camera bag
My bag to date (2017/06/21) is made up of: Nikon D5 and Nikon D850, the Nikon triad with 14-24; 24-70 and 70-200 (all diaphragm 2.8) .Nikon 85 f1.4 and Nikon 105 macro. Nikon x2 and Tamron 150-600 focal point duplicator. Flash SB910. Manfrotto standing stand.Feedback
I learned that nothing can be postponed in photography. Every time you see something that hits you (be it a ray of light, a shadow or something else), stop and shoot! The biggest mistake is to think about coming back an hour later and being able to take a photo at that time. Nothing more false especially when it comes to natural landscapes! Sometimes it takes just a handful of seconds that what you have seen and enthusiashed ... disappears. This is the most important advice I feel about giving and that I have been able to testify in person. Today, or I take the picture right away, or I do not even try to get back to the same place.
