This photo I took in an apartment in Florence in a pleasant morning of photographyTime
We had just started shooting and I was struck by the light that came in from the two windows of the room with the bed positioned between them. It was around 10.40 am on July 14, 2016Lighting
The light is completely natural and I realized that the two sides of the body were illuminated by the side windows. It occurred to me to take the very picture you seeEquipment
To take this photo I used my Nikon D5 using the Nikon 24-70 f / 2.8 as a lens. ISO 1000 and 1/125. Handheld shootingInspiration
The grazing light on both sides of the model's body was of great inspiration and it seemed very beautiful to me and this led me to take many photos using that light.Editing
The post production was a bit laborious because after the development of the raw file I proceeded (with Photoshop) to darken and disappear the outline of the body which (even if positioned on a black sheet) was clearly visible. This took some time. The shot was done in raw and jpg in black and white because I was very clear from the beginning what I wanted to achieve. A little laborious to get the model to take what position but, in the end, I achieved the desired goalIn my camera bag
Today (March 2021) in my gift bag there are two Nikon camera bodies (D6 and D850) with the Nikon "triad" composed of 14-24; 24-70 and 70-200. Normally I also carry the 85mm Nikon f / 1.4 with me.Feedback
There are no special tips for a shot like that. The advice is always to look at the place where you shoot and the light that appears in front of you. I have always tried to adapt (except for the photos in the studio or previously designed) to the situation that I am facing. Another important thing is not to shoot "at random" but have a clear idea of what you want to achieve. And if you succeed, you will be happy!
