This photograph was taken on one of my many drives through the country roads near my home. Sometimes I get the chance to take a drive and then do a little hiking through a field or walk some trails; depending on where I end up. I don't get too worried about getting lost; I do worry about getting stuck in a muddy mess or ditch, though; I just keep going until something looks familiar. When I take these drives I am usually gone all day, wishing I could disappear like this every day.Time
This particular photograph was taken in the middle of the day; late afternoon, with the sun shining bright.Lighting
The lighting was provided by mother nature; the best kind of light that can be used and appreciated. Luckily, there was beautiful, fluffy clouds that day to enhance the beauty of the wild flowers.Equipment
I used my Canon Rebel xsi along with my 300mm zoom lens to close in on this scene and to create the depth of field between the flowers and the sky.Inspiration
I just happened upon them. These flowers were not far from the country road that I was driving down and I found the way the sun lit them from my perspective as beautiful, along with the way the clouds landed at that particular time.Editing
This was over a year ago, so if I remember correctly, I believe that I may have enhanced the blue sky to make a stronger image. In my camera bag
I carry my Canon Rebel xsi and my Canon 70d with my wide angle lens and 75-300mm zoom every where I go, along with extra sd cards, my lightweight tripod and various filters for experimenting with.Feedback
I don't feel that I am one to offer any special advice to anyone, but I suppose I might suggest to imagine a photograph before you capture it. I know that everyone probably already does this, but if you imagine the angle in conjunction with the lighting and background and how you want to frame the final image you should spend some time with these inanimate objects to study them and get to know them for your best result. Your viewpoint and appreciation will be totally different from the one that is seeing it posted on viewbug, or facebook. You spent time with the subject and appreciate it more than anyone else could, even though you wish that they could see the beauty and your understanding of it. I feel this way about a ton of my photographs that no one else seems to care about. They are my story and my appreciation and that is something that keeps me going. Getting to know and understand the world around me is what I am supposed to be doing even if you, the reader, doesn't appreciate it.
