Thank you! I've used a few different ones - for my photos now I'm using a custom built hexacopter. I modified/extended a Tarot 680Pro platform to be able to carry a larger payload and longer flight times. I'm loving this one now! It's now carrying my Sony a6000 camera.

This was taken in the mid afternoon during the summer wheat harvest.Lighting
While this was taken in mid afternoon, I prefer the late afternoon to evening lighting. Especially on the golden fields of wheat, it can create a beautiful color of light! Although, I also didn't want to end up with long shadows for this image, so I took this earlier than I normally would like for other photos on the ground. Either way, morning, afternoon or evening, you get a unique perspective and the light can create a unique view as well - from very long shadows and beautiful color or even no shadow with the emphasis on the equipment and fields of wheat!Equipment

I love agriculture and aerial photos! I've grew up around agriculture and it has always been my favorite subject to photograph. A few years ago, I started flying UAVs and fell in love with the change in perspective. You see things differently ... and, see different things ... than you would from the ground level. Like this image, you see the patterns, textures and a unique perspective on something that is so common (well, in this area!). I am always seeking unique views and images that I can create from the air!Editing
As usual, I do minimal post processing - I always shoot in RAW format, which requires a small degree of processing. This includes adjusting the exposure (highlights and dark areas) as well as adding a small degree of contrast and clarity.In my camera bag
My bag is my car! Most of my shooting from the ground is with my Canon 5D Mark III, so this is always with me along with my lenses (my favorite is my Canon EF 100-400mm IS II USM). Additionally, for my aerial photos and video I use Phantom 4 Quadcopter for any 4k video and my larger hexacopters with Sony NEX-5N for aerial photos. Then, I have everything I need to support these systems with me - batteries, charging station, spare parts, etc! So, if I have to minimize my equipment for a hike - it's always a decision on what type of photos I will be going for along the way!Feedback
First of all, envision your end result - what are you are intending to capture, whether it's from the air or on the ground? In my case, the priority was the patterns! Whether it's a farm field with patterns or patterns in and other landscape, use them to create the image. For this image in particular, the wheat was planted with a tractor using GPS and the combines were also using GPS/Auto-steering - so I knew the lines would be perfectly straight and I had envisioned the moment when they passed one another. So, it helps to know your subjects and anticipate or envision your end result! As a result, there is a pattern in the cut wheat, the tracks, the combines passing, the dust and the small strip of wheat left between them! This is what made this successful for me, I succeeded in capturing what I envisioned!
