Another great shot. The color is deep and a different POV. I really like both the B&W and this one.

Location
This photo was taken in Mount Rainier National Park, Washington State.Time
This was taken at the time of day I prefer to avoid - mid afternoon!Lighting
This was taken in late October so the sun wasn't directly overhead but provided good light to fill in some areas within the trees and provide view of the first dusting of snow of the season! More importantly, I was waiting as the clouds moved and provided some interest to the skies! When I first arrived at this location, it was all blue sky, so I waited some time for the clouds to drift through.Equipment
This was a good hike, so I didn't take much gear with me! This was taken with a Canon 40D, EF-S 17-55 2.8 lens and tripod.Inspiration
When you are in Western Washington - or, even parts of Eastern Washington, Mount Rainier is such a prominent part of the landscape. In the Seattle area, it is simply known as, The Mountain - The Mountain is out today, etc! As you get closer to the mountain, it's just an amazing, bold, beautiful view. I wanted to get to a point where I could get a great view of the grandeur of the mountain and some of the surrounding landscape.Editing
Post processing is minimal - this was a RAW file that I applied a slight bit of contrast and vibrance to.In my camera bag
Since this time, my equipment has changed! I always have my Canon 5D Mark III with the versatile 24-105 and my new favorite the 100-400 II. Love that lens! Additionally, unless I'm on a long hike, I am usually traveling with my hexacopter to get some slightly elevated images and look for unique views of the landscape!Feedback
Don't go for a normal view - go higher, go lower, get a different vantage point! In this case, my priority was finding a hike with a great view - it was a great hike and an outstanding view with quite a few interesting vantage points, including 2 clear mountain lakes on the way! Have fun and get some great photos!
