So beautiful how the grey stone is framing the old weathered door. It brings you right in and keeps you there appreciating the superb hues of colour. Your work is outstanding. Love, love it!! ( :

Thank you for entering my challenge. Door is framed well. The two keyholes adds some intrigue.

Location
This photo is taken in a very special village in Portugal called Piodão. This village completely build out of slate only, is world heritage.Time
It was about noon on a rainy day that I took this photo.Lighting
Lighting was just as the day was, a bit cloudy but good enough... easy and simple without extra flash or settings.Equipment
I have a Lumix DMC-TZ60, all my photos are taken with this little miracle of a camera...The best thing about this camera is that it has a good Leica lens and it is very easy to carry with you because it practically fits in your back pocket.Inspiration
Piodão is a village rebuild on a very steep hill because an ant plague tortured the inhabitants of the original village in the valley... That's why this door has a very slanted entry wich made me wonder about the history of this wonderful place! Looking like an outsider it's a hilarious entry to whatever lies beyond this door....Editing
I don't do much editing although I allways crop the photo's I shoot. In this photo I played a little bit with the color intensity and the contrast, that's all.In my camera bag
I don't have a bag of equipment at all, only my Lumix DMC-TZ60, a wonderful intelligent automatic pocketcamera wich practically fits in my backpocket. It shows that you do not have to use expensive and big cameras to achieve nice results...Feedback
To capture an image like this is very simple, just look around you and be bewondered about the beautiful and crazy world we are living in. When I walk through a city or anywhere else, I allways look around me very carefully to see the details of wich the world around me is build up. I try to look through a pinhole, without forgetting the whole picture. Then, when I take the photo, I allways take a few steps back to take a wider shot so I can crop it later to the exact dimensions I like. If you look at a subject to photograph, you have to try to realise what you want to achieve, Try to find the good light, the right point of view and the best composition... And most of all, take more shots with slightly different settings so you can choose the best one, once you got home and opened your laptop, the magic of today's world begins...
