Location
This photo was taken at Magee Marsh in Ohio. Magee Marsh is a Wildlife area located on the shores of Lake Erie. This is THE spot to enjoy the annual warbler migration.Time
It was a crisp spring morning, probably 10'ish or so.Lighting
Fortunately, nature obliged with perfect mid morning sun.Equipment
This was taken hand held with my old Nikon D5100 and a Nikon 300 zoom lens.Inspiration
I heard this guy singing away and had to search a bit but finally found him. He wasnt bothered by my presence and allowed me to take plenty of exposures.Editing
You can see that I did a lot of post processing on this one. I used On1 and Topaz Labs on this one.In my camera bag
I don't really have a "normal bag". I pack for the circumstances. This activity is a full day so packing lightly is a must. Camera, mid size zoom, flash with a telephoto adapter and that is it.Feedback
Birding photography in nature requires patience and agility both with yourself and your equipment. A fast mid range zoom lens is necessary as many times the birds are in shade. They move around very fast looking/chasing for food. You need to be able to shoot with faster shutter speeds in lower light conditions.
