This photo was taken at the Magee Marsh Wildlife area in Oak Harbor, OhioTime
I am thinking it was late morning, 10:00 am or so.Lighting
The sun was high enough that it was filtering through the trees nicely. This little guy was 20' away or so. I was using a Nikon strobe with a telephoto magnifier attached to the strobe.Equipment
Nikon D7100, Nikon 500mm zoom, Nikon strobe flash with zoom magnifier.Inspiration
I am an avid bird watcher/photographer. There is an annual warbler migration in the spring. Thousands of birds and photographers congregate at this spot yearly just for the event.Editing
I used ON1 for developing and then Topaz Labs for the effects. The photo is done on 2 layers. The background is original but washed out as a painting. The green you see is the underbrush/leaves and the brown is the tree trunk. I then applied a little "fur and feathers" effect to the warbler to make the feathers pop a bit more.In my camera bag
There is no "normal" for me as I pack for the occasion. Camera, flash, a couple of zoom lenses and I am good to go.Feedback
