I was walking with my camera in my hand on a hot summers day in Holland near the IJsselmeer, the biggest natural lake in Europe.Time
The wonderful light was the result of a very hot day with a clear sky and the sun at her highest point in the sky, about 13.00 hours.Lighting
This is a natural shot without an additional flash or editing.Equipment
I have a Lumix DMC-TZ60, all my photos are taken with this little miracle of a camera... it shows that you don't need an expensive camera with a lot of equipment to make good quality photos.The best thing about this camera is that it has a good Leica lens and it is very easy to carry with you because it practically fits in your back pocket.Inspiration
A lot of reeds and foliages were dry and dead and I wanted to capture the wonderful light on the pale and fragile shapes of nature... Many times I was laying in the grass looking up and found my peace just by looking at a single reed or branch of a tree against the blue sky and in this photo I tried to express this peacefull and loving feeling...Editing
This was a natural shot, hardly any post-processing was done, I only cropped the photo and played a little bit with the contrast. I allways shoot a wider shot, to have a wider range of sharpness.In my camera bag
I have a Lumix DMC TZ60, a little camera I like very much... The rest of the contents of my bag are inspiration, a good eye for detail and deep respect for the beauty of this wonderful world we are living in...Feedback
The lighting in this photo is as allways realy crucial... The sun was standing high in the sky and I shot at an angle of about 90% besides the sun. I was laying in the grass on my back and took a lot of photo's at slightly different angles. The result was a couple of nice shots with the right colour, sharpness and light. I tried to keep a bit of distance to have a wider depth of sharpness and cropped the photo later to the size I liked. I placed the subject in the middle because I realy liked the tension of the curve and the fading light in the sky very much... normally I try to apply the rule of thirds to avoid a static composition but as so many things in life, try and see! Edit different croppings and choose the best one later the next day so you can have a fresh look at your compositions!
