I took this photo in Kenya , Masai MaraTime
I took this photo early in the morningLighting
ISO 620, f/4, 1/2000Equipment
Nikon D800 and a tripod like structure fixed to the carInspiration
We were out to see the big migration across the Mara river. But on the way to the river we saw a group of storks and vultures cleaning up the area where a buffalo had been killed by lions. It was quite a show.Editing
I converted the photo into a black and white shot using lightroomIn my camera bag
it depends very much on what I plan to do and where I go. In the summer always a macro lens, just in case there might be an interesting insect. whenever possible I take my 600mm lens, but that requires a tripos , of course. For street photography I take my 24-70 mm lens. Most of the time I take my Nikon D5.Feedback
Get up early in the morning, when you travel in Africa. The light is so beautiful at that time of the day. Actually the mornings are the best time at most place in the world. Be ready. something interesting can happen any moment, that is true in the streets and true in nature as well. An interesting face, a mating dragon fly. Anything can happen any time.
