Behind The Lens

Location
I took this photo in Brittany, France, neart the city of Brest.
Time
It's been taken during sunset. There was an amazing sky. The sun was quiet low on the horizon.
Lighting
It's of course natural light. Sometimes you just have to be lucky enought to be at the place at the right moment.
Equipment
It's taken with a Nikon D700 and a Nikkor 24-105 f/4 handheld, without any filter.
Inspiration
Everything: the lighthouse which is an amazing place, the sky, the light, the mood of the moment.
Editing
In post, I played with the contrast and color to add more drama, to try to make this great light an extraordinairy light.
In my camera bag
At this time, when I was shooting landscape, I carried my D700 with 2 lenses: 24-120 and 70-200 and a tripod. Now I add a pack of filters: ND and CPL and a remote,
Feedback
Find great place, explore them to find the nice angles and be patient to have the better light. In this region, the weather changes quickly due to the ocean wind, sometimes, you come to this place and it's all gray but if you are able to wait, the wind can push away the clouds and you see amazing sky with the colors of the sunset. It's not happening everyday, but when it's happen, it's extraordinairy. That's why you have to be perseverant and come and come again until you have the right moment.
