Location
From a rib boat. I drive the boat for guests so they can get images like this themselves. I don't always have the time to get images because I have to look after the guests needs. Sometimes it comes together for me too.Time
I can't remember for this image because I have so many thousand of them now. In summer its 24 hrs of light here. In winter its very short days from 0900-1500 of light.Lighting
I have to pay attention to where the wind is coming from and try to position the boat for the best light and throw the fish in the right direction so the eagle will fly towards the boat not away from it. Into the light too. Its not always possible to get bothEquipment
I use a Nikon D850 with a sigma 120-300 F2.8. Its a good compromise for weight cost and power. Hand held of course from a moving boat. The eagles come in fast too so you have to know what you are doing. The guests get help setting the cameras up if they need it.Inspiration
I do this rather a lot and these creatures are rather beautiful.Editing
The usual contrast and exposure tweaks. Possibly a little crop.In my camera bag
I have a very extensive bag because I teach photography and have been doing it for many years.Feedback
Go on a boat trip with a passionate photographer not just someone who does it because they have to.
