I live in an unknown Photographers paradise. The Bø Vesterålen islands Northern Norway. This is a little know semi circular valley with this wonderful lake in the bottom of it. Our drinking water actually comes out of.Time
This image was created on 23/07/16 at 1830. It is of course 24 hrs sunshine here at that time inside the Arctic circle. It is a hot summers day.Lighting
The light was a little difficult as the it was taken directly into the sun. I used the smoke to obscure the sun slightly to reduce the contrast.Equipment
My trusty D810 a tamron 24-70 f2.8 was all that was needed for this image.Inspiration
It is not actually fog in the image but smoke from our camp fire. It drifted so nicely across the lake I just had to capture this image. We were cooking the fish we caught on the same fire. It was such a peaceful evening on such a calm day. It just all came together.Editing
I did not need to do much to this at all. Just a few normal contrast tweaks and pull the highlights back a little. In my camera bag
I have an extensive camera bag now. It has built up over the years. I also have a wide spectrum of photography to cover here. Everything from regular eagle safaris to aurora comes under my scope. Thats the advantage of living in the Arctic. Nikon D810 and D300. Tamron 24-70 f2.8 Nikon 16-35 f4. samyang 14 f2.8. sigma 20 f1.4. sigma 120-300 f2.8 and many more. I run a guest house here and offer photo courses amount other things so its good to have an extensive camera bag. Those are just the ones I use most.Feedback
All I can say is keep your eyes open and be prepared for the unexpected. I was not expecting this image to happen it just came across my eyes as I was cooking the fish. Yes the fish were slightly burnt because of the image.
