This photo was taken on the morning of the last day at sea somewhere in the middle of Caribbean on our way back to Ft. Lauderdale Florida.Time
This was the last full day of our cruise and I woke up that morning just as it was getting light to see we had some pretty interesting clouds going on. So I thought there may be a good chance the sunrise was going to be a pretty one. I rushed up the upper deck of the ship just as I saw this view and started taking shots.Lighting
I think the lighting is what made this shot. I loved how the sun brought out all the colors in the clouds and the water, while the ship's lighting brought out the features of the ship.Equipment
For this shot I used my Nikon D7200. I assume I was using my Nikkor 10 -24 mm lens.Inspiration
I was just fortunate enough to wake up at the right time and be standing at the right spot.Editing
Yes this is an HDR image. In my camera bag
I currently carry a Nikon D7500 and D7200 as well as a 70-400 telephoto, 16-800 mm and a 10-24 mm.Feedback
In this situation I could have gone to the other side of the ship and captured a nice sunrise. But in this instance I think having the ship in the foreground and leaving a little of the actual sunrise to the imagination made the difference.
