I've lately found myself getting into a bit of a photographic and creative rut. Whatever I put my hand to results in my self-critisicm taking over and I end up ruling out photos and designs for the strangest and most obscure reasons. The best solution is to get out there and continue being creative and the natural balance will return. It was a beautifuly clear day finished with a nice sunset along the beach. This photo came out of a little experimentation with my new Sony 70 - 200 f4 lens, with a smalle aperature and a low enough angle the little bokeh balls filled the frame to create this rather unique shot.

Love this. Can't decide if the glow is water or reflections off sand, maybe? the color tone sits well here.

Location
Although its been over a year since i've been in my home country, this photo was captured on my local beach on Hayling Island on the South coast of EnglandTime
I eagerly awaited the delivery man to drop off my new photographic toy, the sony 70-200 f4 fe lens. Delivered in late afternoon I shot straight out the door and down the beach to play with this new lens and capture the impending sunset.Lighting
Ive always enjoyed low to the ground shot, especially if the ground has lots of reflections. On my local beach there is a large sandbar that extends out in to the sea, this provides long stretches of sand and stones glistening under the sunlight. Although this sunset was rather disappointing the light bouncing off the ground provides some rather unique perspectives and bokeh for this image.Equipment
Hand held with natural light is my go to for most of my photos. This was shot on a Sony a6000 with sony 70-200 f4 fe lens.Inspiration
I have always enjoyed low to the ground shots with interesting foregrounds, I received this lens the same day and decided to experiment down the beach. Maximising the aperture to f4 and focusing in the distance allowed this rather abstract and unique bokeh to fill the frame and entice the eye.Editing
This is a single shot photo with minimal post processing in Lightroom to get the light balance, levels and colour balance looking right. In my camera bag
When I'm out with my camera I usually take everything I've got. Currently sporting a vanguard photo bag housing sony a7rIII, sony 70-200 f4, sony 24 - 105 f4 and samyang 20 f1.8.Feedback
Ive always believed photography should be fun, you should experiment and play with the equipment you have, only through trying new things will you discover something unique. For the many photos which come out well you will undoubtably have many which don't. But keep on trying and you will be pleasantly suprised. Play, explore, inspire!
