Have been trying to get an image like this of Tommies for ages! So difficult to get a truly unique image of these abundant but very charismatic antilopes. Love how you got that one individual male to stand out from the crowd!

Thanks for your lovely feedback! This was a kind of a lucky shot. I didn't realise the individual male before I came home to the camp after the safari :-)

Location
I took this photo during my first visit to the amazing Serengeti National Park in Tanzania.Time
We had been driving around since the early morning to spot the beautiful wildlife that lives within the National Park and in the end of the day, around the golden hour we drove past this big herd of Thomson Gazelles and I just knew this was the perfect time to capture these amazing animals.Lighting
I had the perfect light condition with the warm golden sunlight coming from behind the Thomson Gazelles. Using the light from the sun when it's low in the horizon creates these beautiful reflections in the fur of the animals.Equipment
At that time I used a Canon EOS 7d together with a Canon EF 70-200mm f/4L IS USM.Inspiration
I didn't have any inspiration for this photo since it's taking in the heat of a moment while passing by the Thomson Gazelles but I've always been inspired by all the wildlife broadcasts on BBC, Animal Planet etc. I've watched these since I was a little boy and it was a dream that became real the first time I sat my feet on the African soil.Editing
Yes, I've have used Lightfrom from Adobe to enhance the colors and the light as well, nothing else were needed for this photo. When it comes to wildlife photography you normally don't over post-process your photos it will quickly ruin your photo if you do.In my camera bag
I took this photo one year ago and I have upgraded my gear quite a bit since. Today, if it comes to wildlife photography I usually bring my Canon 5d Mark III together with a Canon EF 17-40mm f/4, a Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II USM and a Canon 1.4x Extender Mark III. Beside my camera gear I have some tools to clean my equipment, charger, spare batteries, memory cards and a pocket knife/multitool. Depending on the weather I'll bring som extra layers or a windproof jacket.Feedback
If you are new to wildlife photography then start out as a trigger happy shooter with your camera. I started out like this and I have learned a lot since. Today I like to have ideas of what I would like to shoot, specific situations or times of the day with the wildlife. Try to plan and cross your fingers that you are lucky. Getting the right image of the wildlife is one of the hardest things because you can't stage it. Remember what natural light you have available and use it well.
