Location
The photo was taken in the makeup room during a portfolio shoot by a friend. I was there just helping him and trying out the double exposure feature on my D4s.Time
The light was way too harsh outside and the lights indoor were just the same old regular stuff, I was looking to make something dramatic. When I saw the scene outside I knew I would get a dreamy shot if I combined it with a regular photo of the model.Lighting
There is just a mix of indoor light and window light from the first exposure and harsh light poking through the fragmented clouds combined in camera to give the desired effect.Equipment
This was shot with a Nikon D4s and a Nikkor 50mm F1.4Inspiration
I have seen a lot of double exposure photos and a few were really inspirational, but most of them were with trees or buildings in them, i wanted to create something that would change the mood of an otherwise regular photo.Editing
My usual workflow would be to adjust the colours and saturation levels in photoshop. Here however I desaturated the photo and added some grains to create the mood.In my camera bag
I usually shoot wildlife/nature, so my kit consists of a Nikon D4s, Nikon D3s, an AF-S Nikkor 600mm F4G VR and a rented Tokina 16-28mm F2.8 and a Nikkor 70-200mm F2.8 VR. I also at times carry my DJI Phantom 3 Pro for aerial filming.Feedback
Its all about what you have visioned and trying to make something beautiful out of the ordinary. In simple words you should have thought of the final output before pressing the shutter-release.
