Lovely indeed. The blank background really concentrates your view on this beautiful bird.

If there was one bird on this planet that I'd choose to photograph, it'd be these guys. Gannets, I think, are awesome and you have captured this bird so so well. I love this. Simply beautiful.

Location
I took this photo at Parc national de l'Île-Bonaventure-et-du-Rocher-Percé in Gaspésie, Québec in Canada.Time
I'm almost sure it was around end of afternoon, maybe 4pmLighting
This particular gannet was standing close to a bird shelter which gave it shade and I took advantage of the moment... Happened to be at right place at the right time for more drama in the capture.Equipment
I shoot with a Nikon D90 using my 18-200 lens. No other equipment.Inspiration
This National Park is renowned for its flora and fauna, including its famous colony of Northern Gannets. Just had to witness the beauty...Editing
Very little post processing done in Lightroom with added clarity and darken edges a touch. In my camera bag
I carry knee pads, a reflector and a few lens such as 50mm, 80mm, 70-300mm and of course my tripod. That it! I keep it simple...Feedback
Never give up... After a long day of trekking and clicking, I almost called it quits, being a little tired. Then I happened to visit one of the bird shelters and captured this little guy with such detail and perfect light. It was the shot of the day for me and I'm very happy I stayed back to enjoy the moment...
