This photograph was taken in the oldest forest of the Netherlands. It's called "Forest of the Dancing Trees". It's a very mysterious forest, lot's of old stories. For some reason very often there is beautiful light.Time
This shot was taken early in the morning, autumn, very soft and warm light.Lighting
It took quite some time before I found the right spot to work, found the right tree to block the sun. I was doing some experiments with long exposure photography and at some point I decided to move the focusring a bit. That worked! Used F20, 0.6 sec shuttertime, ISO 100, 195 mm, EV +0.3Equipment
I used a Canon 1D Mrk III, Canon 70-200 mm L 2.8 IS and a tripodInspiration
I love the early light and fairy-like sphere. That inspired me, which is not very difficult in a place like that.Editing
I converted the image from RAW to TIFF and JPEG, making the same changes as the camera does when making a JPEG. Only I do it the way I like it.In my camera bag
Two bodies Canon 1d Mrk III, 70-200 mm L 2.8 IS, Canon 100-400 mm L 5.6 IS, Canon 17-40 mm, Canon 100 mm L IS, extra batteries, cards, remote controlFeedback
Investigate area's that might give you a good shot, keep a close watch on the weather forecast (mist, no wind is great), go there very early so you can find "your" spot way in time. Use a tripod and be patient!!!
