The photo was taken very early in the morning, close to wintertime. So it was pretty cold and very dry.Lighting
As the sun was rising, the dust the giraffes were causing, created a beautiful mysterious scenery, in which the giraffes looked like phantoms. On this very moment there was a phantom giraffe visible actually.Equipment
I used a Canon 6D full frame camera with the 150-600 mm Sigma Sport. And a beanbag since I was working from the car.Inspiration
The warm colors and the dust that created this mysterious atmosphere.Editing
I converted the photo from RAW to JPEG with the normal work (contrast, highlight, colortemperature etc.)In my camera bag
Two or three bodies (2x Canon 6D and 1 Canon 1D Mrk IV), a 70-200 2.8 Canon L-lens, a 100 mm IS Canon Macrolense and a wide angle Canon 16-35 mm. Extra sets of batteries, extra memorycards, a strong powerbank to reload battery, cleaning items, business cards and a lot of water.Feedback
Two important advices: go up VERY early, be out as soon as possible/aloud. Take your time if circumstances look different than normal. Don't rush to something you even don't know if it is there. Be patient explore all possibilities.
