Some people say Wolves are much alike dogs, but if you look a Wolf in the eyes, you know better than that!

Location
This photo was taken in a sanctuary for wolves in France. I was aloud to observe close but safe, with all respect for the wolvesTime
The shots were taken on midday, but it was pretty cloudy so the sunlight wasn't bothering at all. The portrait had no shadows which I love a lotLighting
The light could be name no too well, but to me it was great. I don't like if the sun makes harsh shadows in the photo.Equipment
I used a tripot, because of the low light, my camera that I used at this time was a Canon 6d, the lense was a Canon 100-400 mm. I never use a flash with portraits.Inspiration
I love the intense stare of a wolf. They intrigue me, as a doglover with 7 dogs I recognize so much of its body language but not all. There is a mistery around a wolf, and that was what I liked to capture.Editing
I work in RAW so I convert from RAW to JPEG, but other than that I don;t post-process.In my camera bag
Two or three camera's, a Sigma 150-600 mm, a Canon 70-200 2.8, Canon 100 MM macro and a Canon 17-40 mm, some light shields, a remote controller, some ropes and clothespins to take aside branches or grassFeedback
Allways, allways treat nature and wild animals with a great deal of respect. Be patiënt, if the shot doesn't work out today, it will work out next week or next year. I had to work for a specific shot of impala buch in South Africa, for more than three years
