So great to see these incredible beings in the wild, especially since they are on the road to extinction. OUTSTANDING shot.

Location
I took this picture in Amboseli, my favorite place on this planet.Time
It was in the late afternoon, after a long safari in the national park. All the sudden there was a little turmoil among the elephants and fortunately I was ready to take a shot, because it did not last very long.Lighting
I took that photo at Iso 100, f/5,6; 1/400. Since it was already afternoon, the light was not too bright anymore.Equipment
I used my Nikon D4 with a Sigma lens, APO 120-400, F4,5-5,6. No tripod, no bean bag.Inspiration
I like elephants. It is always exciting to watch them walking to and from the swamp, where they spend the day, while it is hot. It was very special to see the turmoil, this sudden excitement among them and I was happy to be ready, while it happened.Editing
I used lightroom to turn it into black and white and cropped it.In my camera bag
Most of the time I carry a Nikon D800 and D4 with two different lenses, a macro, a fisheye, depending on where I go.Feedback
Well, a trip to Africa is a prerequisite for a shot like this. I do not like taking pics of animals in captivity or zoos. If you like something or someone, the pictures work out at the end, if the light is right.
