Location
This photo was taken in Dublin city centre. It is one of the newer bridges over the river Liffey. I think it is a structural delight especially at night.Time
The shot was taken about 10 pm during the summer, I work in Gorey Co. Wexford and traveled up after finishing work about 9pm. I had planned doing this shot months before and waited for the blue hour conditions and weather to be right. I'm delighted with the photo and being picked as a finalist just is the icing on the cake.Lighting
The exposure was 4seconds at f11 and iso 100Equipment
I used Nikon D5300 with a sigma 17mm- 50mm 2.8 lens and a manfrotto tripod and used the camera's 2 second timer.Inspiration
Just love the lines and shape of the bridge.Editing
All I did to the photo was the usual things in Lightroom, drop the highlights and recover some shadows, add a little clarity and sharpning , vibrance up a little and that's it not heavily worked on at all, I'd say it took no longer than 5 minutes to get the desired effect. In my camera bag
Nikon D5300, Sigma 17mm-50mm 2.8, Tamron SP 70mm-300mm f4 and Nikon Speedlight SB 700 flash, I also regularly use filters, Lee Big Stopper, Lee 105 circular polariser and Lee medium grad nd.Feedback
ll I can say is try different settings. I started shooting at f8,2sec, iso 100. didn't really like it at that so changed to f11,4sec,iso 100, and tried a few different compositions, from both sides of the bridge, think I covered all the angles.
