Behind The Lens
Location
I took this picture in a city park in Noceto in the province of Parma.Time
It was sunset, the light you see in the background is the sun that is setting behind the model.Lighting
The light in this photo is all natural, I didn't use any flash or anything in particular, I naturally lit up the model a bit in post production.Equipment
The lens is the thing that gives character to this image, it is the helios 40-2, the famous 85mm f1.5 which has the characteristic swirly bokeh. The camera I used is the sony a7ii on which this lens can be mounted using an adapter. Now I no longer have this lens, unfortunately it was very complicated to focus so I preferred to sell it.Inspiration
I love doing portraits with autumn bokeh, the colors are just wonderful.Editing
In these cases I create color grading that enhances the natural colors of autumn and I try to make the light a little more interesting by enhancing natural lights and shadows. In my camera bag
For these portrait sessions I always have at least a couple of speed lenses, like an 85mm, a 50, a 35, a 135mm, but I never take them all together so I don't have to drag too much weight. Lately I also have a led panel with adjustable color temperature, sometimes a speedlight with trigger and umbrella to create more interesting lighting than the natural one if I need a little more light, even if natural light is often the best.Feedback
For this type of photo I recommend a friend capable of posing and a beautiful speed lens, the most beautiful lights are at sunrise and sunset.
