One of the most popular lighthouses on Cape Cod, it is located at the most southwest point of the Cape mainland in the village of Woods Hole, noted for being the location of the main ferry to Martha's Vineyard island. And also for being a center of scientific ocean research, particularly the headquarters of the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution.

The lighthouse is located on a small peninsula, a headland called Nobska Point. Basically the point of land between the Vineyard Sound and Buzzards Bay. It's usually very nice at sunset/dusk, particularly if there's a bit of a breeze to unfurl the flag (like it wasn't here)...
