This is another self portrait which belongs in my Enchanted Sleep series on Chronic Fatigue.
Since the general thought at this point is that CFS is an auto-immune disease, I wanted to take a photo that showed the body both trying to protect itself and attacking itself at the same time. The metal bars spring up, a cage grows, but she is confined to the cage her body creates. Within the center of the cage, flowers begin to wilt, signifying the tole this is taking on her.
This was quite difficult to edit, but I'm very happy with how it turned out :)
