Thank you so much! It made me smile too. I love fall - especially in New England.

Location
This photograph was taken in my backyard in Connecticut. I absolutely love autumn in New England. The beautiful colors are so vibrant, annd this leaf stood out among all the others. It's gigantic. I realized I had to take a self portrait with it in order for the viewer to see the scale of just how big it was. I put my camera on the ground, set a 10-second self-timer and .... SNAP!Time
I took this photograph around noon on November 20, 2013. You can tell just how bright it was outside!Lighting
I purposely took the photograph when the sun was at its brightest in order for the leaves to take on their most spectacular hues.Equipment
I had just graduated from Penn State with a degree in Broadcast Journalism and a degree in Photography. With that being said, I did not have my Canon EOS 6D yet. So, I made due with my little Panasonic DMC-TZ1 with a Leica lens. Because I couldn't shoot in raw, I purposely set the ISO to 100 in order to obtain the best quality possible, and I did not use a tripod. I like thinking outside the box and being as creative as possible. So, I just set the camera on the ground and angled it towards myself.Inspiration
The giant leaf itself inspired me to take this photograph! This is the biggest leaf I have ever found. It was so beautiful that I knew I had to take a photograph with it near my head so the viewer could get a sense of just how big and beautiful it was!Editing
I did a little post-processing on this image. The background was a little blown out due to the fact that I could not shoot in RAW. As a result, I restored as much of the history as possible in Adobe Bridge, added a blue filter to the sky in order to boost the color, and added a vignette in order to keep my edges. I feel the vignette provides enough contrast to show just how bright it was that day.In my camera bag
I absolutely love my Canon EOS 6D. The quality of images it produces is fantastic, and it is easy for me to shoot in manual mode. My Canon 50mm portrait lens is also a favorite. The depth of field I get from the lens makes my photographs look beautiful. I also carry a Sigma 28-77mm, a Sigma 70-300mm Macro Super and a Tokina 19-35mm. I also carry an attachable flash, but I don't use it very often because I love working with natural light. Although not in my main bag, I also have a Canon EOS ELAN film camera and a Canon AE-1 Film camera with various lenses. I love shooting with them and processing film in a dark room every once in a while. It really makes you appreciate technology today!Feedback
Be yourself, and don't be afraid to try unique techniques. Use nature to your advantage and create unique vantage points by not always using a tripod.
