This photo was taken in my garden at home. I was fortunate to be walking with my camera not expecting to find something to take a photo of, when I noticed this bee sitting on a dead flower. Being creative seeing what I could do with this photo in my mind. Getting it back to my computer and making the photo I saw in my mind.Time
This photo was taken at 13:20 in the afternoon, not the best time to be taking photos due to the harsh direct sunlight on the subject.Lighting
I tried to get it as close to natural as possible, looking at it with and with out the camera. Matching it as close as possible to what I could see with my eye. Remembering the direct sunlight I did compensate a bit by going a bit under lit with the exposureEquipment
Nikon D90 with 18-55 kit lens. Camera settings were: Manual F-stop = F13 Shutter = 125 Center WeightedInspiration
I like to take photos of flowers, insects, wild life and nature, always looking for the unseen and unexpected photo. Looking for the little things that the average person would not look for.Editing
Yes post processing was done by simply cropping the subject closer, doubled the layer made the top black and white and erased only the bee to come through in color. In my camera bag

All I would say to some one trying this, is to experiment with your camera while taking the photo. Try different settings e.g. F-stop, Shutter, Flash, ISO and different lenses and focal lengths. Always look for something out of the ordinary, it may be a big thing and most times a small thing that you would not generally notice.
