I was taking an off trail cross country route to where I was camping that night. Where I was hiking was a granite slab so I had a clear view of Half Dome. Once the sunset the last light came through Yosemite Valley and directly hit the face of Half Dome.

A very unique view of an otherwise over photographed landmark! Very well done.

Location
I took this photo on an off trail hike in the Yosemite high country. I always liked this unique perspective on half of Half Dome. It was great to be there at this timeTime
I always liked that from this perspective you can see the last light of the day shine through Yosemite Valley and hit the face of Half Some. There was a clearing Strom that provided perfect light.Lighting
The light coming through the Valley makes this photoEquipment
I used a Sony a6000 and underexposed a little bitInspiration
I knew the location already. I like it because it is a different perspective on a commonly photographed feature. I really like trying to find those perspectives.Editing
Not really much post processing a little bit of a crop from the original. In my camera bag
I always carry extra batteries and memory cards since I usually am far from resources when I photograph. I also carry a remote flash and a timer remote.Feedback
Always try to look at things from a different perspective. This will help you get that unique photo.
