Location
The photo is taken at the heighest point of the famous Besseggen trail in NorwayTime
The photo is taken at about 12.00 o'clock. I started the trail in "the wrong way". Most people first take the boot and then start the trail by walking back to the place where the boot left. But I started with the trail in the opposite way and at the and took the boot back to the starting place.Lighting
Lighting is always important, at any photo, indoor or outdoor. It was sunny but with a lot of clouds with beautiful shapes. The sunlight was pushing her way through the clouds and created a beautiful light. This is the reason that the difference in the color of the water is so clear.Equipment
I used my camera (off]course), which is a Sony NEX-6 and the superb Sony 10-18 lens. No tripod or anything else was used.Inspiration
The Besseggen trail is a famous trail in Norway. I was on a 3-week roadtrip on my own through beautiful Norway to take photos and do some climbing and walking. I knew this trail from stories and photo's on the internet so I wanted it to walk myself. It's a difficult trail, especialy when you do it in the way I did (first walk, the take the boot). I reached the famous place on the trail, the heighest point, I watched the landscape and knew that this was going to be a great shot. The light was perfect and the scenery even more.Editing
Yes I did some post-processing but not much. I used photoshop to add some more contrast and structure. In my camera bag
It depends on what kind of photo's I want to take. If I want to do some landscapes, then my 10-18 Sony lens is my most used lens. I don't use a tripod when I'm doing trails like the Besseggen trail, because I want to travel light.Feedback
When you are planning a trip, do some research on what kind of scenery there will be and what kind of possible picture you can take. Then take the best gear for the job and use the sunlight and nature to show the beauty of the scenery. Try to be creative, try to see what others don't see.
