Grand Jury Winner

"The reason I choose this image is because of all the elements that had to come together to get this image. I have been here doing this same image from this spot and it is incredibly tough. The detail and sharpness are spot on. the long exposure plays sets up the perfect mood to this. The position of the rocks and swirl are amazing ! The converging lines and repeating triangle shapes are a well thought composition." - Kevin McNeal

Runner Up

"This was the runner-up which was tough as it could have been a winner easily. The placement of the sunstar and the stunning timing on the ship makes this stunning. The overall blue tones are the perfect mood to this type of setting. I also love how the foreground was captured so that it draws you into the rest of the image. The processing is very painterly leading to the overall mood." - Kevin McNeal

Runner Up

"I think the element of this image really speaks for itself. The timing and perspective are incredible. The diagonal lines on the bottom of the ocean lead the viewer through the image and to the subject. Looking at the great white straight on really gives the viewer the impression its coming straight at them. What really draws me into the image is the subtle light at the top of the image giving the sense of how close the shark is to the surface and how shallow the water is." - Kevin McNeal
