The colors reflected in the low tide were incredible the lighting was perfect just after the sunset.Equipment
Canon 7D, 10-20mm Sigma lens, tripod, automatic shutter releaseInspiration
The great clouds and the low tide made fabulous reflections in the sand. I liked the way the birds were lined up to watch the sunset. Then the lone paddleboarder walked into the photo at just the right time for me to take this shotEditing
Yes but not much. Just a slight contrast adjustment and some light dodging on the paddleboard. The colors are all real.In my camera bag
Canon 7D, Sigma 10-20mm lens, Canon 24-105 L Lens, 50mm lens, A couple of ND filters, a polarizer filter and an automatic shutter releaseFeedback
Look for cloudy skies at sunset and low tide. The combination always brings out the best colors and reflections just after the sun sets, so plan to stay around for another half an hour after the sun sets. The settings on the camera were Aperture setting, ISO 400, f/11 at 16mm. Get down low to catch the reflections. And creep up slowly as to not scare the birds, smile!
