This image was taken while hiking in the rainforest near Cordova, Alaska.Time
This image was taken mid-day, in a light drizzle.Lighting
Very low light.Equipment
Nikon D5300 with a 70-300 Nikkor Lens.Inspiration
The mosses in the Alaskan rainforest are amazing. My comment to my wife and hiking partner before seeing this formation was that we best not stand still or the moss would be growing up our legs in only a few minutes.Editing
Slight cropping was the only post processing of this image. In my camera bag
Nikon D5100, two lenses, a macro extension tube, a polarizing, and a couple of other filters, spare battery and SD card.Feedback
Keep a sharp eye out for unusual features of the landscape that can be highlighted by the natural light. Be willing to walk off the beaten path with eyes open. Be interested in seeing and being in nature, before being a photographer of nature. Love what you do and where you are first!
