Location
This photo of a seedling pine tree was taken years ago on a cold winter day in a local snow covered park.Time
This photo was taken late in the afternoon outside on a gray overcast day, almost devoid of any colors.Lighting
The moody, natural lighting was coming from the cloud covered inclement sky with its lack of colors to illuminate the green pine needles against the pristine white snow background.Equipment
This picture was taken with an Olympus SP565UZ, with its zoom lens extended to about 100mm with no filtration, flash or tripod. Just hand held, at ISO 64 and an aperture of f5.6 and a 1/250 second exposure.Inspiration
I really enjoy exploring the world of naturalness in photography. In this case it was the simplicity of the subject, the moodiness of the lighting and lack of coloring of this single little seedling alone in the snow that drew me into this world.Editing
I did very minimal post-processing only adding the simple vignette and some saturation to the pine needle coloring to accentuate the simplicity of the seedling in the snow.In my camera bag
Currently, I normally have my Nikon D7200 camera and my Nikon 18-55mm lens, my Nikon 55-300mm lens, my Tamron 18-400mm lens, a few macro lens adapters, a remote release and extra storage cards and battery.Feedback
