This photo was taken at the annual 2018 Ladybug Festival held in Milford, DE. This is a festival honoring and dedicated to all talented female musical artists where they are encouraged to participate and share their gifts and talents with the wider local state audience.Time
This photo was taken while attending an all female music festival on September 22, 2018 at around 4:00 in the afternoon. This was the first time we attended this annual festival and were really excited and looking forward to the many photographic opportunities it would offer, in addition to enjoying the sounds of the many talented female musicians and singers. This young woman stood out not only because of her musical performance but also the coloring of her sunglasses and the way the audience was reflecting in those sunglasses.Lighting
The day this photo was taken was a beautiful sunny mid-September afternoon. A perfect autumn day. The color of her sunglasses brought to mind the coming fall colors and really enhanced the mood of her performance. The natural late afternoon lighting was perfect to light this scene.Equipment
This photograph was taken with my Nikon D7200 camera fitted with a Nikon 55mm to 300mm kit lens set at the full 300mm zoom. The shutter speed used was 1/160 with an aperture of f5.6 and an ISO of 400. No tripod, filters or fill in flash were used.Inspiration
The thing that inspired me most to take this photo was this young lady's colorful sunglasses and the addition of the reflection of the audience in them really peeked my attention. I immediately knew that these things would make her standout and be what would draw someone who was viewing the photo to also become part of this performers larger audience.Editing
The beautiful and natural lighting of the time of day this picture was taken, coupled with my use of the combination of the long lens and f-stop I used which naturally blurred the background, really only necessitated a minimal use of post processing to increase some color saturation. In my camera bag
My normal go to equipment that is in my camera bag is usually my Nikon D7200 camera body with both my Nikon 18mm to 55mm and 55mm to 300mm kit zoom lenses in addition to my Tamron 18mm to 400mm zoom lens. I also carry a desktop tripod, a remote shutter release and extra batteries and storage media.Feedback
