Location
This photo was taken at the kitchen sink’s dish drying pad where a few droplets of water were remaining.Time
This photo was taken early in the morning on a gray overcast day outside, almost devoid of any colors.Lighting
The moody lighting was natural coming from the window above the sink. I wanted to draw attention to the lack of colors in the single droplet of water and that's why I chose to use such a great depth of field with the gray background.Equipment
This picture was taken with a Nikon D7200 and a 18-55mm lens set at 55mm with a macro adapter and no filtration, flash or tripod. Just hand held, at ISO 640 and an aperture of f4.5 and a 1/125 second exposure.Inspiration
I really enjoy exploring the world of macro photography. In this case it was the simplicity of the subject, the moodiness of the lighting and lack of coloring of this single droplet of water that drew me into this world.Editing
I did very minimal post-processing only adding the simple lighting flare to accentuate the simplicity of the water droplet. In my camera bag
I normally have my Nikon D7200 camera and my Nikon 18-55mm lens, my Nikon 55-300mm lens, my Tamron 18-400mm lens, a few macro lens adapters, a remote release and extra storage cards and battery.Feedback
Take as many pictures at varied angles and light situations as possible. Your rewards can be many and surprising. Don't be afraid to experiment and be as creative as your imagination inspires you to be. Above all, have fun!!
