Behind The Lens

Location

Close to a industrial park is the little village where the industrial complex gets its name. Near Southampton is Nursling Village where this church is located. Saint Boniface Nursling.

Time

The photo was taken not to early in the morning. About 9. No one around as the 3rd lock down had just been announced.

Lighting

All the lighting is natural. The morning freezing fog had mainly lifted gut the sky was still very overcast with no glimpse of the sun or blue colouring breaking through the clouds.

Equipment

My camera Canon EOS R with the 28-70mm F2

Inspiration

The previous day I had driven through the village later in the day but there was allot of frost over the fields but did not have my camera with me. So the following day as the weather had been the same over night I visited the area again to take photos.

Editing

I normally throw images into DPP4 and make slight adjustments.

In my camera bag

My camera Canon EOS R seems to have the 28-70mm F2 welded to it at the moment as it is a lovely lens you use. Great flexibility with its zoom for landscapes and have just enough zoom for the more focus objects. I have also got a harness to assist in carrying the camera rather than having all the weight of the camera and lens around my neck (I would recommend one with heavy cameras and lenses). A tripod is always in the car. If I decide I'm doing the hole hog then the Lee filters and sigma 14-24 F2.8 get taken out as well. The only down side with the sigma which is another great lens is I need the adaptor for it.

Feedback

I am still learning and think I am getting better. I think there is no right or wrong thing. If you see something take a photo of it, the cost of it is nothing once you have your camera. The more you use your camera the more you understand what it can do (play with the settings and move away from auto).
