The color palette is amazing, the spider so perfectly fitting in with the soft tints. Even if spiders are not associated with softness, I think you managed to sell "softness" with this shot. Beautiful.

Soft tones are wonderful and the spider adds to the image. Beautiful. Congratulations on your People's Choice award.

Location
This photo was taken in our back garden after a summer rain shower. It was at the end of summer and because our town is situated near the largest natural lake of Europe, we have lots of spiders here at that time of year.Time
It was about 11 in the morning on a Sunday morning. When the rain stopped, this tiny spider climbed out of his shelter, a rose!Lighting
This rose climbs up against our neighbors wall, preventing the morning sunlight to create highlights and strong shadows which allows me to take nice detailed flower and insect macros.Equipment
I have a Lumix DMC-TZ100, all my photos are taken with this little miracle of a point and shoot camera...The best thing about this camera is that it has a Leica lens and it is very easy to carry with you because it practically fits in your back pocket.Inspiration
It was a rainy Sunday morning when I woke up, so I decided to stay in bed for a while longer. When the rain stopped, I got out of bed and saw the sun coming out. This is always a great moment to take your camera and shoot the world with shiny droplets. Walking through our garden I noticed this little spider climbing out of his pink hiding place to catch some tasty flies.Editing
I did some post-editing in Lightroom such as cropping, and sharpening the spider a bit to make it stand out better. In my camera bag
I don't have a bag of equipment at all, only my Lumix DMC-TZ100, a wonderful intelligent automatic pocket camera which practically fits in my back pocket. It shows that you do not have to use expensive and big cameras to achieve nice results...Feedback
Take the time and effort to look around you and be surprised to find that one can take a nice photo in almost every square foot anywhere! Capturing wonderful shots is a matter of trying to look through a pinhole without forgetting the whole picture. Look around you and see that everywhere beauty can be found if you are willing to see it! Make sure all distracting details are gone, to achieve maximum focus on the details you want to show... In creating a nice macro of a spider it's important to take the spider from the side or the front and as low as possible! If you take this photo from a higher point of view, you loose contact with your subject. If you look at a subject to photograph, you have to try to realize what you want to achieve, Try to find the good light, the right point of view and the best composition... And most of all, take more shots with slightly different settings so you can choose the best one, once you get home and open your laptop when the magic of today's digital world begins... I always crop it later into the size and composition I like best. Crop and edit the photo in different ways, so you can choose the best one the next day when you can have a fresh look at them!
