I have heard Blue Jays for years but have not been able to entice them to come into my yard until today. I gave up putting out peanuts because the squirrels would take them in minutes but today I realized that when I am out in the yard with my tripod, the squirrels stay away. So I threw some peanuts in shells on the roof of the shed and waited. Within minutes, this Blue Jay was landing on the roof and taking the peanuts. I was very happy to be able to photograph this awesome bird.
